Oh boy was this difficult to watch. Had the makers not seen 28 Days Later? 'The Night Eats the World' adds absolutely nothing new to the zombie horror sub genre. You are forced to sit through an uninteresting leading man's moping about his apartment while some unconvincing gurning zombies run about outside - for the entire duration. The ultimate message that we all become zombies if left alone for too long is groan-inducingly rote and leaves you wondering "I sat through all this... for that?" Anders Danielsen Lie and Golshifteh Farahani come off very badly, the former for his distracting handle on the French language and the latter for some really trite dialogue. Only Denis Lavant, as a zombie locked in an elevator with no lines, comes off well, which is saying something.
